Buckmore Park 6hr Karting Endurance Race

The event takes place at Buckmore Park in Kent and is organised annually by Downs Extra 21 a regional charity affiliated with the Down Syndrome Association. It covers Essex and Greater London and is a primary point of contact and support for people with Down Syndrome and their families. The organisation aims to act as a support network whilst promoting equal opportunities. The Go Karting is their main fundraising event each year.

The race consists of 18-35 teams ‘peddling’ around a 1200m track as fast as they can for 6 hours. Whoever completes the most laps or more frequently has the most cash to spare wins the race. Teams can be up to 10 people but after extensive research we have discovered that 5 is the optimum number of members. It is not a straightforward race to the finish, along the way you can buy laps off your opponents (for this reason MKF make sure that they are never in the lead!) as well as take advantage of buy one get one free offers to advance your own position.
