Karting 2005
MKF first entered the world of motorised racing in May 2005. The team members that year were Timmy R, Merlin, Love Machine, Gilly and Bub. After much deliberation the team settled upon blue t-shirts and a fighting monkey logo. The results of that first race are lost in the sands of time, but reader, please be assured that the team did not embarrass themselves. Their lack of podium success was perhaps due to the Buckmore Park pit crew kidnapping the team mascot. Forced to defend their honour they were left with no choice but to take the race announcer’s kettle as collateral. This lead to the chilling ultimatum of no kettle: no fuel. After many tense negotiations both kettle and mascot were returned unharmed.
